Popularisation of science

Part of the scientific work is also popularisation of science and presentation of LBMA activities to the broader public. LBMA staff and students of Human Biology or PhD students regularly participate in events aimed at bringing current scientific topics to the attention of the general public.

The Researchers' Night is a traditional popular science event that takes place regularly in autumn in all EU Member States. The LBMA has been participating in the Researchers' Night since 2010.

Within the framework of the University of the Third Age, Dr. Fialová gave a lecture on the history of dentures and fillings.

In 2018, the LBMA staff was involved in the reconstruction and implementation of the new exhibition of the Dr. Aleš Hrdlička Museum in Humpolec. The exhibits and the premises of the museum were modernised and given a modern interactive character. In the premises of the museum you will learn in an engaging way about the life and research of the world-famous anthropologist of Czech origin, Dr. Ales Hrdlicka, about the biological nature of man from his genetic basis to the variability of populations around the world, about human evolution and anthropology and their methods. The implementation of the new exhibition was reopened in 2019 and was awarded in the Special Award category in the XVIII National Museum Competition Gloria Musaealis for 2019.
