What do we offer?

  • Graduates of a bachelor's degree in biology or medical science, or, exceptionally, archaeology, can apply for the follow-up master's degree in Human Biology.
  • Admission to study is based on the result of the entrance examination, which is within the scope of the subjects of the state final examination in the bachelor's degree in the specialisation Human Biology in the study programme Experimental and Molecular Biology. More information here.
  • The study leads to a highly specialised education in a multidisciplinary field reflecting current trends in human biology research.
  • The Human Biology program is aimed not only at acquiring theoretical knowledge and understanding, but also provides highly specialized practical training in a wide range of modern laboratory and anthropological methods. The curriculum is also enhanced by opportunities for archaeological field experience and field trips.

Why study here?

  • The Master's degree programme in Human Biology is designed as a multidisciplinary field of study in the biological sciences with an overlap into history and archaeology.
Students in the follow-up Master's programme draw on a wealth of knowledge in the biological sciences, the knowledge of which they learn to apply to a selected research topic in the biological nature of humans.
  • The study takes place in the modern environment of the Bohunice University Campus, where interactive lecture rooms, professionally equipped classrooms for laboratory practice, and the highly specialised scientific Laboratory of Biological and Molecular Anthropology (LBMA, more information here) are available for both anthropological analysis and genetic analysis of historical findings.
  • Teaching is provided by experts in the field with extensive research and teaching experience, including international experience, regular scientific publications and activities in the field of science popularisation.
  • The LBMA has long-standing cooperation with a number of foreign institutions, which will facilitate the possibility for students to travel abroad for study.
