Information for applicants to the Bachelor's degree programme Experimental and Molecular Biology, specialisation Human Biology

What do we offer?

  • The Bachelor's programme in Experimental and Molecular Biology, specialisation in Human Biology explores the biological nature of humans, from their roots, starting with the evolution of Homo sapiens sapiens, to present-day mankind. Research is directed from the classical anthropological approach to the genetic and molecular biological level, both in individuals and in entire populations.
  • Over the course of the three-year degree, students will acquire not only an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of biological sciences and the fundamentals of chemistry, as well as a practical understanding of laboratory methods, but also a foundation of highly specialised knowledge. They will then demonstrate their ability to search for literature, including foreign sources, understand it, analyse it and summarise the information obtained in a comprehensive and clear form as a scientific literature review.

Why study here?

  • The Bachelor's programme in Experimental and Molecular Biology, specialisation Human Biology is unique in its multidisciplinary approach. The combination of genetics and molecular biology with anthropological methods reflects the trends of the 21st century and the international demands placed on research of human.
  • The study takes place in the modern facilities of the Bohunice University Campus, in state-of-the-art lecture rooms, classrooms and laboratories.
  • Departments providing teaching have long been cooperating with leading Czech and foreign scientific institutions. Students thus have the opportunity to travel abroad for study stays or to complete work internships.
  • Students acquire a wide range of knowledge and skills during their studies, which ensures their good employability.
